AutoFlight Prosperity 01

AutoFlight’s Prosperity 1 explored how future urban air mobility could move beyond engineering performance, pioneering a completely unique passenger experience. The challenge centred around defining a new interior design language and balancing this with strict aviation hard points, visibility targets, structural integration, safety systems, and ergonomic requirements. Balancing a progressive design execution with these constraints was critical to create a calm, immersive, and human-centered environment that was also brand unique and easily recognisable within the aviation sphere.

As Interior Design Lead the development combined transportation design thinking with digital experience principles, evolving through sketch ideation, concept modelling, digital visualisation and close collaboration with engineering and surfacing teams. Particular focus was placed on the pilot cockpit, integrating large digital interfaces, seat-mounted flight controls, and auxiliary systems into a compact yet intuitive spatial framework. Across the wider cabin, passenger interaction screens, integrated lighting, multifunctional seating, and carefully considered ingress and egress zones were designed to soften the technical nature of the aircraft while amplifying feelings of openness, reassurance, and spatial clarity.

Revealed publicly at the Paris Air Show in 2023, Prosperity 1 established a distinctive visual and experiential identity for AutoFlight’s first eVTOL platform. The aircraft later achieved a then world-record eVTOL flight distance on a single charge and successfully transitioned between vertical and horizontal flight, positioning the project as both a technological milestone and a more human centred vision for the future of flight.
